Lidl recalls salami – risk of salmonella

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Lidl is recalling a type of salami after it has emerged that the product may contain salmonella.

The recall concerns Strolghino-Salami of the Italiamo brand in 250 grams and with a best before date of May 1-2, the food chain states in a press release.

The affected product has been removed from the store and Lidl is urging customers who bought the salami to report the product.

Sold in all stores

The product has been sold in all Lidl stores in Sweden.

“Lidl Sweden regrets and takes a serious view of what happened, is investigating together with the supplier how it could have happened, and that something similar does not happen again,” Lidl writes in the press release.

Salmonella was detected after a routine analysis.

On Monday evening, Ica, Coop and Axfood had to go out and recall millions of eggs, when they discovered the spread of salmonella in stables.
