Library hosting fall gardening presentation

The Chatham-Kent Public Library is hosting a guest speaker in September to help residents with their fall gardening.

Author Lorraine Johnson will give a virtual presentation Sept. 12 at 6 pm Johnson has written books called 100 Easy-to-Grow Native Plants for Canadian Gardens and A Garden for the Rusty-Patched Bumblebee: Creating Habitat for Native Pollinators, co-authored with conservation biologist Sheila Colla.

The discussion, which is sponsored by the Sydenham Field Naturalists, will be on the topic of planting for pollinators.

The event is meant to support the launch of the library’s fall seed library program, which will have seeds available starting Sept. 6. All branches are offering a variety of seeds.
