Lewis Capaldi pauses tour due to mental health

The world artist was unable to sing his super hit “Someone you loved” during the festival in Glastonbury this weekend.
Now Lewis Capaldi is putting everything on hold – to focus on his mental health.

Clips from this weekend’s festival in Glastonbury have now gone viral on Tiktok, showing how global artist Lewis Capaldi can’t manage to sing his hit “Someone you loved”. Instead, we can see the audience closing up and singing the song. But it’s not the first time it’s happened to the artist, he’s been involved in something similar before, including during his concert in Stockholm earlier this year.

Last year he revealed for the first time that he suffers from Tourette’s syndrome, and it has previously been known that he struggles with his mental health and anxiety attacks. At the beginning of June, he announced that he is pausing everything until the Glastonbury gig. But now he’s taking an indefinite hiatus from touring and canceling everything.

“The hardest decision I’ve made in my life”

It is in one long Instagram post he first of all thanks the audience for the action during the festival this weekend and then gives the fans the heavy news.

“This probably won’t come as a surprise, it doesn’t make writing any easier, but I’m very sorry to announce that I will be taking a break from touring, indefinitely,” writes the artist.

“Last Saturday it became clear that I need to spend a lot more time getting my mental and psychological health in order, so that I can continue to do what I love for a long time to come,” he continues.

But he is clear that it is with sadness that he has now decided to take a step back.

“Singing for you every night is all I’ve ever dreamed of, so this is the hardest decision I’ve made in my life. I will be back as soon as I can”.
