Leverkusen led Saturday’s evening game 3–0 By Florian Wirtz by two and By Patrik Schick with one goal. The last of Wirtz’s hits came from a penalty kick. Tim Kleindienst scored the visitors’ only extra time in the first minute.

Lukas Hradecky was a substitute in Leverkusen’s previous league game against Mainz, but returned to his usual routine between the posts against Mönchengladbach.

Reigning champions Leverkusen are second in the standings.

Bayern Munich is still at the top, with a four-point lead over Leverkusen. Bayern took a 3-2 home win over Wolfsburg on Saturday.
