Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

With WoW Dragonflight, the maximum level rises to level 70. MeinMMO tells you how to level up as quickly as possible in the large level guide.

What are the tips here? We’ve put together some useful tips to help you level up as quickly as possible in the new Dragonflight expansion:

If you are still not finding your way around, we will explain to you in our guide how you actually get to the Dragon Islands.

Note: If you want to level up as quickly as possible, you won’t get much of the Dragonflight story. Depending on what is more important to you, you will need more or less time to level. In our special, we tell you what you need to know about the WoW story so far.

You can find the current status of servers and Co. in our release ticker for Dragonflight.

How long does leveling take? According to the latest information, the fastest possible level time should probably be around 4 hours. However, this is only possible if you have already figured everything out and planned every step in the beta.

In the beta, the requirements were adjusted several times, which is why the value varies between 5 and 10 hours depending on the guide and expert. Therefore, count on about 6-8 hours to bring a character from level 60-70.

Preparation and items to quickly level up to 70

How to prepare: First things first: clean up your inventory! Bags that are as large and, above all, empty will help you level up, because then you will have to go to the dealer or on your mammoth/yak less often. Dragonflight shouldn’t clutter up your inventory as much, but you’ll still find a lot of items to fill your pockets, especially when leveling up.

In any case, either get a 20-slot bag for reagents before the release, which simply expands your inventory, or get a corresponding bag in the first quests immediately after the release. This helps you to always have enough space in your inventory.

Another important tip: set and use your Hearthstone. Many players forget they have this item or keep it “for important cases”. But you can save yourself many minutes of walking back to the quest hub and level at least 10 times!

These useful items from the auction house will help you

It can be worth making a quick detour to the auction house and stocking up on supplies before heading to the Dragon Isles. There are some items that are particularly useful when leveling:

  • You can defeat your opponents faster with flasks and potions from alchemists.
  • If you want to save, then use up your old potions from the shadow lands when leveling up, you won’t need them at 70 anyway.
  • Drums of Fury: Serves as a “minor heroism/rage” for all classes that don’t have access to these abilities.
  • Shooting Shoes: Temporarily increase your movement speed on the ground.
  • Goblin Glider: Let yourself glide gracefully through the air as you fall.
  • Fried Bone-Fish: Buff food that increases your movement speed when you kill an enemy that grants experience or honor.
  • Checkered Flag: Increases your mount speed by 30% for 10 minutes, including while riding a dragon. Obtained at the Darkmoon Faire for completing the 20 Chime Big Race.
  • Shooting shoes make you extremely fast for a short time. This is especially useful in areas where you want to gather a lot of enemies.

There are other items that increase your movement speed. Farming them now takes more time than they would save you later. That’s why we don’t recommend them here.

What helps you, however, are the guild banners, which you can buy for a friendly reputation with your guild from the guild trader in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. These banners increase your experience gained for killing enemies, reputation gain, and honor within 100 meters:

  • Banner of Cooperation: 5% more experience points
  • Standard of Unity: 10% more experience points
  • Battle Standard of Cooperation: 15% more experience points
  • Use these banners whenever you can. Especially if you have to kill a lot of enemies in a quest area. The banners last for 15 minutes and have a cooldown of only 10 minutes.

    The best addons for leveling

You can find some helpful tools to make leveling faster and more enjoyable in our list of the best addons for World of Warcraft. Here are the main mentions at a glance:

  • Scrap: automatically sells all “scrap” for you that is only intended for sale and saves you a few clicks at the dealer.
  • RareScanner: searches for rare enemies in the area and displays them to you. They usually provide particularly good loot and a big chunk of experience points.
  • Speedy AutoLoot: increases the speed at which you loot.
  • Cinematic Canceller: Automatically skips all in-game cinematics.
  • HandyNotes: Shows you treasures and useful items on the map, especially useful for the glyphs when riding a dragon.
  • Addons aren’t something you absolutely need to level or play. However, they allow you to shave off a few minutes in total, which in the worst case scenario you would otherwise just stare at the screen and wait.

War Mode & Darkmoon: Is the XP Boost Worth It?

For more experience points you can activate the war mode. This grants you up to 20% more experience and gold, but also means that you are ready to be attacked by players from the other faction at any time.

In Dragonflight, Horde and Alliance play together, even sharing opponents, which is why peace can be largely preserved. You have to decide for yourself whether war mode is worth it for you:

If the server is generally quiet, you can use the war mode without hesitation. Especially on role-playing servers, many players only use the feature for the experience and are otherwise peaceful.

On larger servers that used to be PvP servers or where there is a strong faction imbalance, you may have more trouble with the other faction. The 20% bonus XP is usually not worth it here, because you are also prevented from leveling up much more often.

Whether war mode is worth it sometimes depends on which class you play. Some classes, like rogues, are simply stronger in PvP and can choose to fight or flee.

Which class should I play in WoW Dragonflight? We recommend 5 classes, we advise against 2

    Darkmoon Faire: +10% XP boost

The Darkmoon Faire is held once a month for a week. There you get 10% more experience for up to one hour when you sit on the carousel or roller coaster. Alternatively, you can also get the buff from consumable cylinders.

The buff is especially worthwhile if you later want to level up via the dungeon browser because you don’t have to move from the spot. But if you happen to be nearby or set your hearthstones correctly, it is advisable to take the buff with you at all times. Without portals and Co., however, the buff is less advisable.

Right after the release of Dragonflight, on Sunday, December 4th, the Darkmoon Faire actually starts and runs until Saturday, November 10th.

Dragon Riding – So you are faster on the Dragon Islands

Dragon Riding is a new feature in Dragonflight and allows you to glide through the skies and even customize your very own dragon. You get the special mounts quite early in the first area of the expansion.

Familiarize yourself with the feature as early as possible, because the Elan mechanics work differently than you are used to from flying. Your dragon doesn’t have infinite strength to keep itself aloft, but rather glides.

As you expand, your dragon will learn more skills and gain more customization options. We recommend collecting all Dragon Riding Customization Glyphs as soon as possible. You can read how to do this in the guide:

WoW Dragonflight: Find dragon riding glyphs – Addon shows all localities on the map

The collection should only take you roughly 30 minutes in total, but it will save you a lot of time if you go faster. You should only do without it if you already know exactly which route you should use to level.

Level Route – What Quests Should I Do?

How to plan your route: In Dragonflight you have to complete the areas in a given order, at least with the first character:

  • The Forbidden Island (Dracthyr only, level 58-60)
  • The Awakening Coast (58-64)
  • Plains of Ohn’ahra (62-66)
  • The Azure Mountains (64-68)
  • Thaldraszus (66-70)
  • You can then decide with secondary characters (“Twinks”) to complete any order in the adventure mode. This is advisable, because then you also have access to world quests.

Make sure that you only do the campaign quests if possible. These are marked with a sign around the exclamation mark and will guide you through the dragon islands on the quickest route.

All other quests are rather detours that you should avoid if you only care about speed. However, according to the latest information, the campaign quests will probably not get you all the way to level 70.

These quests are still worthwhile: You can either choose to do specific side quests that are along the way anyway, or use your professions as you level up. The professions here are usually more advisable.

When leveling, you can mine raw materials for experience points and use them to create items once you have learned the relevant profession. Professions received a major overhaul with Dragonflight, and you now get experience for the first time you craft something. There are also professional quests that can bring you up to two levels in total.

Here you can see an overview of the features for professions in Dragonflight:

    What about dungeons?

Our recommendation is to complete the new Dragonflight dungeons while leveling with appropriate quests. This has several advantages:

  • you will get to know the dungeons later for Mythic+
  • you get loot that helps you level up
  • the experience roughly corresponds to what you would get from questing in the same amount of time
  • it’s variety and keeps you entertained
  • Keep in mind that dungeon efficiency depends on how fast your party is. If you are already familiar with the instances, then you are probably much faster than a group of random players.

With a view to its usefulness later in the expansion, however, we advise you to accept a few more minutes when leveling in order to get to know the dungeons while leveling.
