The proposal was particularly sensitive for Soest and Leusden. Windmills are not popular in any of the municipalities, because of their appearance and because they cause annoying noise, shadow and vibrations. Because a quarter of the regional bid consists of windmills on the Vlasakkers and on the Leusderheide, Soesterberg seems to come off badly.
