The city of Pori remembered a track winder on Wednesday Leo-Pekka Star for his success at the Paris Paralympics with a personal scholarship of 5,000 euros. Tähti achieved a bronze medal in the 100-meter T54 class wheelchair curling in September 2024.
The city also donated the same amount to the fund bearing Tähti’s name, which supports disabled sports and the conditions for exercise and applied exercise for special children and young people.
The legend of wheelchair curling is still considering whether or not he will continue his career until next year’s World Championships in November.
– If the World Cup competitions are now, they will be held in India or Colombia. There’s still so much time left. I haven’t made any decisions until then, says Tähti.
– Do I go there, do I possibly just bet on hundred or some other trip. All these decisions must be made at the beginning of the year. And see where the training goes.
The star has kept himself in shape with wheelchair basketball and gym workouts.
– I am satisfied with autumn, as my free time has increased. Now there is time left for things related to the company, which I do with my sister. Now let’s see if that fire will come back at the beginning of the year, Tähti enigmatically states.
