It was an eventful match between Anaheim and Colorado. 3-3 was the result after regular time and extra time – but in the end the home team drew the longest straw.
18-year-old Swede Leo Carlsson contributed strongly to Anaheim’s victory. In the second period, he first reduced to 2–3. He then assisted on Alexander Killorn’s equaliser, which took the match to extra time.
Once there, he had a rock-hard shot on the post, before the match was decided on penalties.
Decided after delicious draw
Carlsson then became the only player to score his penalty, and he did this after a delicious draw.
In addition, it was the 18-year-old’s first career NHL penalty shootout.
Leo Carlsson has now scored twelve points (seven goals and five assists) in 16 NHL appearances.
