Amena was born in Yemen, but came to Sweden a few years ago.
– I started singing when I was eleven years old but I couldn’t continue because of the war in Yemen. My passion for music disappeared but when I came to Sweden everyone sang so I felt it was time to go back to the music, she told Hänt.

Amena and her family had moved from the war -affected Yemen four years earlier. During the years on the run, the family was among others in Saudi Arabia and later in Turkey.
