Leksand’s worries and fight against the clock – now risks losing the big star: “It’s about a lot of money”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Dundersuccé in Leksand.
But next season the club can do without Marek Hrivik.
– It’s about money, says sports director Thomas Johansson.

Leksand accounted for a fully approved season in this year’s SHL. The club finished in eighth place after the basic series and got the chance via the round of 16 to compete for the SM dent.

Can lose the star

But once there, it stopped. The season’s big bang team Oskarshamn became too difficult, and Leksand had to take a holiday before the quarter finals. One player who came in late in the season was Marek Hrivik – who returned to the club after a stay in the KHL.

The high-scoring Slovak signed a short-term contract that expired after the departure. Now Leksand hopes that the star will stay over the coming years, but where nothing is clapped and clear as Hrivik is waiting for better offers from other clubs.

– We have had a dialogue with Marek and Marek knows where we stand and what we think and feel. Should it be the case in the final stages that maybe not much happens in the Swiss parts in the near future, above all, I definitely think that Leksand is Marek’s alternative, says Thomas Johansson.

“Marek likes Leksand”

Marek Hrivik played his first season in Leksand 2019/20. Then it was a smash hit with 83 points in two seasons.

– Marek likes Leksand and we like Marek. I think it’s more about the fact that they themselves sometimes need to land in that this feels right for me and here I have a chance to be able to participate and win something and here I have the opportunity for this. That is about where we are, says Johansson.
