Leksand now confirms after all the heavy player losses – shows interest in two (!) Swedish NHL stars: “Potentially yes”

Leksand has lost several stars during the spring.
Interest in two Swedish NHL stars is now confirmed.

Leksand did a great season in the SHL’s regular season, but they did not manage to get far in the playoffs. One could still sum up a clearly approved season, with several stars delivering.

“Potential: Yes”

But during the spring, the heavy player losses have replaced each other. The superstar Max Veronneau – one of the SHL’s best players – has left for the NHL. At the same time, Emil Heineman, Isak Rosén and nils Åman have signed for NHL clubs. And it is clear that the club is chasing reinforcements that will replace the stars – and above all Veronneau.

Aftonbladet mentions Emil Bemström as a potential dream name, as he has an expiring contract in the NHL. And of course there is interest from Leksand, not least when Bemström played in the club as a junior, and also during a season as a senior.

– We’ll see. Potential: Yes. But I also think that Emil is such an age that he can get a contract. I would almost expect that. Should he not get it, we have to take that ball then, if he wants to come to Leksand. There are other clubs he has connections to, says Petter Carnbro, scout and analyst at the club.

Confirms interest

Aftonbladet also mentions Victor Rask as a potential dream name, and even there Leksand confirms interest.

– He’s good, there’s no talking about it. He is quite far ahead of my time in Leksand, but he is a guy who has been reflected on, that he can look away to Europe, yes, says Carnbro.

Victor Rask broke through in Leksand in the early 10s but now has twelve straight seasons in North America behind him. He most recently came from a heavy season with the Minnesota Wild and Seattle Kraken, where he did not really get it right. He has also played a part in the AHL, which means that many now believe in a move back to Europe, and potentially also Sweden.
