The club’s general manager Thomas Johansson has been given the task of looking around for a new goalkeeper. Now they are said to have set their sights on a former SHL star in Joe Cannata, Hockeynews reports.

Former SHL star

The 34-year-old American has previously played for both Björklöven and Oskarshamn and achieved great success in Swedish hockey. Right now he is without a club after leaving the German club Löwen Frankfurt.

Leksand is interested in Cannata mainly because he knows both the SHL and the country after four seasons in Swedish hockey. The change would therefore not be too big and an established goalkeeper name would be needed in Dalarna.
