Leif Mannerström reconciles – gets 37 stools from his own book

The solution to a years-long book dispute – the publisher sued for non-payment

Leif Mannerström has been in an infected quarrel with the book publisher Arena, with whom he released the book “Leif Mannerström’s chef’s life” in 2018. The star chef has previously sued them for approximately one million kroner as he believes he has not been paid enough and has not received royalties for other books.

Mannerström believes that the parties agreed that Arena would pay SEK 1,300,000 in fees – but he believes that he received SEK 650,000 too little. In addition, he says the publisher has sold several copies of his other books without compensating him.

A settlement has now been made in the Lund district court. It means, among other things, that Mannerström gets to pick up 37 pallets of his own books from the publisher. Arena believes that the compensation that Leif Mannerström has requested is both incorrect and excessive.

Commenting on the verdict: “Very satisfied”

What also appears in the judgment is that the settlement also means that the book publisher Arena will never again publish books written by star chef Leif Mannerström.

A press spokesperson for the TV chef expresses great relief after the announcement.

“We are very pleased to have finally reached an end after a very unpleasant and painful long process,” says the press spokesperson in a statement to TV4 Nyheterna.
