Leif-Ivan Karlsson on the sale of Baltic star: “The deal is not done”

Ever since the Baltic Star appeared in our waters a few years ago, it has been the focus of intense media attention. Not least through pithy statements from the owner, entrepreneur Leif-Ivan Karlsson.

But now it looks like the old passenger ships are finally about to be sold.

  • Details: Scandalboat in Lunde sold to Gothenburg company

  • Who is Leif-Ivan Karlsson?

  • There are interested parties

It is clear that there are now people who say they are planning to buy the boat, even if they are reluctant to say anything concrete at all about the deal.

A special company is to be formed for the boat and SVT has spoken to two of the people involved, an entrepreneur in Jönköping and one in Gothenburg.

    – We don’t want to go out with anything before everything is ready, says one of those who are part of the group.

    – We are in discussions with the city of Gothenburg. But we must first get that agreement in place before we can move forward, another person who is also part of the group told SVT.

At the moment, he too wants to keep a low profile and preferably avoid media attention.

    Leif-Ivan about the prize

SVT calls Leif-Ivan Carlsson, Baltic Star’s current owner. He states that the price will probably be low for the ship.

What do you think yourself, around 15 million?

    – Lower, replies Leif-Ivan Karlsson.

According to Kent Larsson, the plan is that it will initially be moored in Gothenburg’s harbor and become accommodation for students, or perhaps hotel guests.
