Are Leif GW Persson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic friends?
Yes, that is very true indeed.
But GW Persson reveals that he has been really disappointed with “Ibra”.
Even if there is a full 36 years difference between them Leif GW Persson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic so the two giant profiles are actually good friends. Believe it or not, in 2018, the prime time TV personality admitted to meeting “Ibra” several times.
Friend with Zlatan
The very first time they met was when GW Persson was called to the Swedish national team camp to lecture the players about the police profession.
– Many of them were dangerously interested in “Wanted” and police work. Zlatan said that if he had not chosen to devote himself to football, he would probably have chosen to be a cop instead, says Leif GW Persson in an interview with Nöjesbladet in 2018.
– I think it was wise that he chose football.

Zlatan and Leif have kept in touch since then and, in addition to their professions, they share a common interest in hunting.
– He has been very friendly to me. He has sent me both signed shirts and other things. It has been a bit of a fight among my football-interested sons-in-law about who will get that signed Zlatan shirt, says GW Persson in the interview.

Leif GW’s criticism
But despite the unexpected relationship they both have, Leif GW Persson was really disappointed with Zlatan and his behavior a few years ago. It was in connection with Ibrahimovic stepping in as major owner and poster name for a betting company that Persson hit his fist on the table and clearly showed his displeasure.

GW itself sells red wine and other products with its name and face on it but draws a clear line as to what is acceptable or not. And what the friend Zlatan did was beyond that limit and inappropriate.
– I don’t think he should do that, says Persson in an interview with Expressen in 2018 and admits that he was disappointed when he heard what Zlatan did.
– Yes, I almost did. It’s like selling guns, ammo and whores. I think it damages your credibility with the consumer.
