Fence runner Viivi Lehikoinen and a javelin thrower Oliver Helander has been selected to the Finnish team for the World Championships in Athletics, which will be competed in the 15th and 24th July in Eugene, USA.

Lehikoinen fell short of the World Championship 400-meter genuine score by 55.40 with a record of 54.96 in Geneva, Switzerland in the middle of this month.
Helander broke the 85-meter limit in the javelin throw already last summer and again in the middle of this month at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku with a record 89.83.
Helander left the spear race in the Oulu ranking race on Sunday due to the knowledge of the approacher. However, it was not an injury.
