Warner Bros.’ LEGO Harry Potter games Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 are returning as remasters for next-gen consoles.
WB Games is once again remastering the popular LEGO Harry Potter games. Originally released in 2010, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 brought the first four installments of the Harry Potter film series into the LEGO world. That success was followed in 2011 by LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, and in 2016, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection, a bundle of both games, was released. Now, eight years later, WB Games is remastering the collection for modern hardware.
Return to Hogwarts: The Next Generation LEGO Harry Potter
Announced at the Back to Hogwarts event, this new remaster brings the LEGO Harry Potter Collection to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). This version, which will be released on October 8, will come with improvements such as 60 FPS, native 4K resolution, haptic feedback, and high-resolution shadow maps. However, it is stated that this remastered version will only be available digitally for now and will not have a physical launch.
Harry Potter fans can also expect a new video game based on the series to be released. On Tuesday, September 3, WB Games will be releasing a new multiplayer game called Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. The game focuses entirely on Quidditch and will be available for both current and last-gen platforms. PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to play the game for free as long as they are subscribed to the service.
