LEGO Fortnite breaks the 2.4 million player mark

The new LEGO mode started in Fortnite just two days ago and is already breaking records. The mix of survival and sandbox mode attracted almost 1 million players in the first hour. The mode has now broken the 2.3 million player mark.

What is LEGO mode in Fortnite? LEGO Fortnite is a new mode for the popular battle royale game, created in collaboration with the toy brand LEGO. In it, you don’t fight each other like in all other previously available modes, but rather collaborate with up to seven other players in a Minecraft-like setting:

You can choose between a survival and a sandbox mode. Survival, like traditional Minecraft gameplay, is about surviving. In sandbox mode, however, like in creative mode, you can build and craft without limits.

LEGO Fortnite cracks the 2.4 million player mark after just two days

What is the current player record? 921,000 players played the new LEGO mode in the first hour. At this point, it had already surpassed the 896,000 players of the remaining available modes.

On December 7, 2023 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. the following morning, the mode set a new absolute record: 2,432,569 players played LEGO Fortnite at the same time.

A total of only around 1,912,000 players played in the other modes. This is how they were divided:

  • Battle Royale: 726,000 players
  • Battle Royale Ranked: 617,000 players
  • Zero Build: 484,000 players
  • Zero Build Ranked: 83,000 players
  • This means that LEGO Fortnite has surpassed all other modes by around 520,000 gamers and has now broken almost all of the all-time peaks. Only the normal Battle Royale mode is above LEGO with 3.1 million players.

The numbers come from Fortnite.gg. This is what the graph looked like when the news was released:

At the time of this news (Saturday, December 9th, 2023 at around 1:00 p.m.) there are again over 1.4 million players in the mode. In the other modes it looks like this:

  • Battle Royale: 547,000 players
  • Battle Royale Ranked: 477,000 players
  • Zero Build: 219,000 players
  • Zero Build Ranked: 44,000 players
  • At the beginning of November it was also announced that Fortnite had broken its own record with over 44 million players in one day, 6 years after its release. If LEGO Fortnite continues to perform so well, this record will probably be surpassed again very soon.

What’s next in Fortnite? You might think that Fortnite would be taking a break after the successes with OG Fortnite and now LEGO Fortnite. In fact, Epic Games still has a lot going on.

Yesterday Fortnite launched Rocket Racing: Like LEGO-Fortnite, a collaboration, but here with the game Rocket League. In the original, you control a vehicle and play car football in two teams of three. At the time of this news, 315,000 players are already enjoying ranked mode, while 307,000 are playing in normal mode.
