Does he really exist? Or is he just made up? Hardly any other monster has as many myths as the Yeti gigantic snow people, who is up to mischief in the wilderness. It’s no wonder that this legendary character has found his way onto the big screen several times.
In 1977, the Yeti became the title character of the Italian-Canadian fantasy adventure Yeti – The Snowman is Coming, which for his trashy charm is known. The film was made shortly after the King Kong remake in 1976. Tonight you can watch the arrival of the terrifying snowman on television.
Trashy fantasy adventure with horror monsters: The Yeti rages in the footsteps of King Kong
The broad outlines of the story are very reminiscent of King Kong: a frozen yeti (Mimmo Crao) is discovered in the pack ice on the coast of Newfoundland. Prof. Henry Wassermann (John Stacy) can hardly believe his eyes. But then industrialist Morgan Hunnicut (Edoardo Faieta) kicks one nasty plan on.

Hunnicut sees one thing above all in the discovery: money. The Yeti is brought to Canada and thawed. After an eternity in the ice, the giant creature suddenly finds itself in the 20th century is completely overwhelmed of all the impressions. It doesn’t take long before the big catastrophe begins.
In every second of the film you can feel that Yeti is coming big monster event wants to be. However, the budget was not up to this requirement. From the cheap Yeti costume to the absolutely fake-looking model helicopter: every corner and edge has been saved here.
