Player Martin “Rekkles” Larsson will return to Europe in League of Legends. Most recently, he became the sixth man to win the LoL World Championship in London with the South Korean team T1. His announcement is now a surprise. He will return to Europe at the age of 28, to his native Sweden, which he left at the age of 16. Rumor has it that he could join Los Ratones, a team of major English-speaking Twitch streamers.
This is what Rekkles says about his move to South Korea: Rekkles, now 28, says (via
He actually wanted to take a break from LoL, but the “Martin of the future” would never have forgiven him for that, so he accepted the offer from the general manager of T1, Becker Jung, and went to South Korea for a year and had a crazy and successful one there Time, but it’s coming to an end now.
Rekkles became world champion with T1 and Faker a few weeks ago:

These are his new plans: Rekkles says he now needs to teleport back to base, regenerate mana and health, buy a few items and upgrade skills before heading back to the Rift. At the age of 16, he left home in 2013 and in 2024 it would be time to return.
He has an offer for the 2025 season that allows him to return.
In Sweden he also wants to face the challenges that he has avoided for years.
Rumors about a team of Twitch streamers are becoming increasingly likely
Where is he moving to?? The people on reddit are relatively certain: He is moving to an emerging team of content creators that will be created under the leadership of Caedrel in the Northern European regional league NCL. Sweden is part of this northern European league.
Rumor has it on Reddit (via X) that the team’s squad will be announced on November 15th.
It is speculated that this team of Twitch streamers will include people like
That would be a competitive team – some also throw names like Perkz (ADC) or Jankos (Jungle instead of Caedrel) into the mix. But these are even more distant rumors.
How likely is it that Rekkles will move to this team? Nothing is confirmed, but it would certainly be a good idea. It doesn’t seem very likely that Rekless will now go back to the LEC and perhaps join a weaker team. The path to Los Ratones is also a decision to take another step towards becoming a content creator.
What is interesting from a German perspective is that the Caedrel team would be structured similarly to the German influencer team NNO and they have already signaled that they might leave the Prime League in 2025 and play against Los Ratones for the title in Northern Europe – maybe yes also against Rekkles: LoL: Team of German Twitch streamers no longer want to play in Germany after trouble with the league
