Legendary horror series was about to end and is now getting its longed-for finale

George A. Romero is considered the father of zombie horror. In 1968, with Night of the Living Dead, he laid the foundation on which The Last of Us is built today. The second part, Zombie – Dawn of the Dead, was followed by a total of five sequels. Romero’s last film, Twilight of the Dead, remained unfinished. But now a director has finally been found, which can continue the series 14 years after its predecessor, Survival of the Dead. Zombie Horror is said to end with a mixture of The Last of Us and Lost

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Brad Anderson will direct the horror film. Anderson directed, among other things, the psychological thriller The Machinist and individual episodes of various series such as Peacemaker and The Wire.

As JoBlo quotes, Twilight of the Dead is said to be set on a tropical island where the last remnants of humanity are fight for survival between different zombie factions.

When is Twilight of the Dead coming to Germany?

According to the Hollywood Reporter report, filming on Twilight of the Dead will begin in fall 2023. There is no official start date yet. We expect publication Spring 2025.
