Legendary horror series is being celebrated like it hasn’t been for a long time, but German fans have a big problem

Legendary horror series is being celebrated like it hasnt been

Anyone who loves the Saw series has had to suffer almost as much in recent years as the tortured people in the Torture franchise. The series had sunk into randomness almost 20 years after Part 1. The daring, unusually sober realignment with Chris Rock in 2021 also failed.

But now comes Saw X – and the 10th part surprisingly good reviews and fan reactions. Many celebrate it as the best film since its debut in 2004 and perhaps even the best part of the series ever. The film has already been released in cinemas in the USA.

What is Saw X about?

Studio Channel / Lionsgate

Jigsaw

Serial killer John Kramer (Tobin Bell), also known as Jigsaw, is terminally ill. He learns about an experimental cancer treatment that promises a miracle cure. He goes to Mexico full of hope. Here he is confronted with the cruel truth. The treatment is a scam and only serves the purpose of taking advantage of and exploiting desperate people. Driven by revenge, John Kramer sets up brutal and perfidious traps with which he wants to punish the fraudsters and show them their own wrongdoing in a drastic way.

Fans react so euphorically to Saw X

The story of Saw

Saw X is the best film in the franchise since the first film! Surprisingly, it is touching at times and is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Brutal traps, scary music and incredible performances from Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith! The mid-credits scene will make fans cheer!

Saw totally surprised me. This was the best thing since Saw 6 & it had a gripping story/diabolically awesome traps. Tobin Bell gives his best performance as John Kramer […]. Die-hard fans will enjoy this film.

Putting John Kramer in the spotlight more than ever works brilliantly, and Tobin Bell is just great. […]

The Saw series has always had a difficult time with critics. However, the review review Meta Critic shows an outstanding cut by Saw standards: Part 10 is the first film in the series to achieve an overall rating of 60 (maximum 100). Renowned critics from Indie Wire and the New York Times gave the film positive reviews. For comparison: the second best Saw part on the platform scores 48 points (Part 3)

German fans will have to wait much longer for Saw 10

The only problem for German fans: Anyone hoping for a release of Saw X during the Halloween season will be disappointed. Unfortunately, part 10 starts two months later in Germany than in the USA – on November 30, 2023 is so far. But at least you now know that the wait is worth it.
