A few months ago it was just a rumor. As Variety reports, the project is now actually taking shape. Sony is the major studio behind the Legend of Zelda film adaptation in the guise of a live-action blockbuster to conquer the big screen. Sci-fi expert Wes Ball was hired as director.
Ball knows his way around well-known franchises out of. He directed all three Maze Runner films and most recently directed Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom, which will be released in 2024. For Zelda, he will be working with a script written by Derek Connolly, who wrote the Jurassic World trilogy.

The actress, known from Euphoria, can be seen next week in The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and would be a perfect choice for Zelda.

Sony has not yet announced a specific theatrical release for The Legend of Zelda. The project is still at the very beginning. First the script has to be written.
