Legacy of the Mages – This is how the wizard quest works

In order to use the enchantments in Diablo 4 as a wizard, you must complete the class quest “Legacy of the Mages”. You can find out how this works here on MeinMMO.

As soon as you reach level 15 as a wizard or sorceress in Diablo 4, you will automatically receive the quest “Legacy of the Mages”. This is essential for your class because it unlocks the enchantments that give you passive versions of skills.

How do I start quest? When you reach level 15, the quest “Legacy of the Mages” will appear in your diary. The goal is now stated that you should follow the “astral call”. The quest marker takes you to the Shattered Peaks in the Barren Highlands, southwest of Kyovashad.

If you investigate the area, you will eventually come across Mordarin, the traveling wizard, who you must speak to. He reports that he is looking for the book “Forgotten Codex” – the manual for enchanting techniques. Well, unfortunately the place is crawling with demons and of course you have to rescue it.

You can find the book in the “Forgotten Archives” dungeon

Where can I find the book? To find the book, you have to go to the “Forgotten Archives” dungeon, which will be marked on your map. You can find it southwest of the “Nevesk” waypoint. In the dungeon itself you will mainly find enemy blunders. You will find the chest with the book on the right side of the dungeon.

What do I do with the book? As soon as you have the book in your inventory, you should return to Mordarin. You give him the codex pages and then follow him into the small building next to you – “Abandoned Shack”. There you should light the four fire bowls, which works with one click.

A few demons then appear that you are supposed to eliminate. Mordarin then tells you that he probably has to go through the notes again and leaves the book to you. You have successfully completed the quest “Legacy of the Magicians”.

Unlocking the enchantment slot

How does this help me? By completing the class quest you unlock the enchantment slot. You can assign skills to this to receive the passive bonuses. So you can now use “Enchantment: Fireball”, which causes enemies to explode in a fireball after death, which deals damage. You unlock a second enchantment slot at level 30.

Enchantments grant passive skill bonuses to wizards

In dungeons, but also in the open world of Sanctuary, you will find various chests with loot. If you’re lucky, a fortune will be waiting for you in one or two chests – but some also have a nasty surprise in store: Diablo 4: You should open every chest in Season 3, there could be a fortune in it – or a trap
