Left by ambulance – died at home

The incident occurred in Blekinge last spring when the home service alerted an ambulance after the care recipient had worsening breathing problems, writes Southeast.

When the ambulance arrived, the patient was treated with inhalation and was then assessed to be able to stay at home, but shortly afterwards the person died in his home.

According to Lex Maria, the incident was reported to Ivo, the Inspectorate for Care and Care, who states that the outcome could have been different if the person had been accompanied to the hospital by ambulance.
