The outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, is traveling to Damascus today to meet with Ahmed al-Charaa, head of the Syrian transitional administration since the fall of Bashar al-Assad. This visit is the first to Damascus by a foreign head of government since the flight to Moscow on December 8, 2024, of the former Syrian president.
