Lebanon, a conflict and poverty, has received a new government. Prime Minister Salam wants to “re -build trust” with the international community.
In the Middle East on the Mediterranean, Lebanon has received a new government led by the Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. This is the first time since 2022, when there is a fully competent government line -up in the country.
In Lebanon, it is not easy to form a government, as ministers’ tasks must be shared equally between religious groups.
Salam’s government has 24 ministers, half of whom are representatives of different trends in Christianity and half representatives of the various trends in Islam.
Now, the government has been a bit easier to create the political influence of the Iranian Hizbollah proprietary organization, which has been impaired with Israel over the past year.
Prime Minister Salam is a former diplomat and former chairman of the International Court. According to Salam, Lebanon’s “only way to save is to recur.”
– I’m going to restore trust between the citizens and the state, between Lebanon and our Arab neighbors, between Lebanon and the international community, Salam swore in his speech on Saturday.
In X, Salam also said that it would oblige Israel to withdraw from the Lebanon regions “completely occupied”.
Lebanon is in a chaotic state of years of economic scramble, Hizbollah and Israel’s latest clash, and Beirut’s 2020 explosion.
EU Lebanon Ambassador, Belgian Diplomat Sandra de Waele congratulated on X Lebanon’s new government and its commitment to the reform and said the Union will support the country in its reform work.
