What is the TOTY in EA FC? The Team of the Year, or TOTY for short, is probably the biggest event of the year. Here you can celebrate the best players of the past year once again. In the past, you were able to choose from a pre-selection of eleven starting players who, in your opinion, deserved to receive a strong TOTY upgrade. In a later voting you could also vote for a twelfth player.
When can you vote for the TOTY in EA FC 24? The latest information indicates that you can vote for this year’s TOTY starting Monday, January 8th. The first really strong TOTY cards should appear two weeks later at the latest, and will probably be the measure of all things for the next few months.
The only disadvantage: TOTY players have been difficult to draw in recent years, making them even more sought-after and expensive than an English striker some time ago. However, an innovation could change that.
Double chance of becoming a TOTY player through women’s TOTY?
How many TOTY players will there be? According to Futdonk, a well-known leaker, in addition to the well-known men’s TOTY, Icon TOTY and the TOTY honorable mentions, there will also be a women’s TOTY for the first time.
This could mean that there will be twelve more TOTYs (starting eleven and twelfth woman) in addition to the twelve usual special cards (starting eleven and twelfth man). Theoretically, the chance of getting a TOTY would be twice as great. However, as of today we cannot say whether the two teams will appear separately or will be released together.
What is pretty certain, however, is that the TOTY icons introduced last year will also come with very good upgrades in EA FC 24. The field is completed by the honorable mentions, i.e. players who were able to impress with strong performances but did not receive enough votes to make it into the final team.

When will the first TOTYs come into the packs? According to Futdonk, the first players will appear in Ultimate Team on January 19th. The TOTYs usually came into play in stages. The attackers started, followed by the midfielders; The defenders plus the goalkeeper formed the conclusion.
It remains to be seen whether EA Sports will keep the system in view of the additional female TOTYs. The schedule published by Futdonk at least stipulates that the full release, i.e. the release of all TOTY players, should take place on January 26th.
So if you take the schedule into account, it is quite conceivable that we will see a TOTY with 24 players at once this year. This could significantly increase the chance of drawing one of these coveted cards.
It would also be conceivable that the TOTY time would be extended and that some icons and honorable mention players would appear for the men’s TOTY as well as later for the women’s TOTY.
