League of Nations 2022: France excluded from the Final Four … Groups and rankings

League of Nations 2022 France excluded from the Final Four

LEAGUE OF NATIONS. By losing to Croatia 1-0 at home, the French team officially lost their title.

[Mis à jour le 14 juin à 09h20] France should not lose or risk being excluded from the Final Four of the League of Nations. Unfortunately, after another very sluggish match, the Blues lost to Croatia on a goal from the penalty spot by Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric. As a result of the classification, the France team will not be able to defend its title two days from the end.

Asked about the results of the rally, Didier Deschamps did not say he was worried. I am not naturally worried. I will have a reflection with my staff. There will be need for many more things if we want to maintain the standard which is ours. Overall, there is a crying lack of freshness. It will be necessary, at the start of the school year, to do much more to prepare for the deadline which is ours.

What are the rules of the League of Nations?

The Football Nations League is organized into four leagues. The four winners of League A groups qualify for the Final Four (semi-finals + final) in October 2021, the winners of Leagues B, C and D groups will be promoted and the last of Leagues A and B will be relegated to the lower league. It should also be remembered that, as during the first edition of the competition, won last year by Portugal, the challenge of this League of Nations is twofold: beyond the trophy awarded to the final winner (necessarily from the League A), two possibly qualifying places for the World Cup 2022 are granted since the two best winners of Nations League groups (in all leagues) who are not directly qualified via the classic play-offs (which remain in force) will be able to participate in play-offs. This year it is France and Belgium, who will therefore have a lifeline in the event of a poor performance during the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
