League of Legends, one of the most popular games in the world, has just launched its first season of 2025. An endless array of new features are about to come into play, to the delight of players.
The universe of League of Legends continues to expand and conquer the hearts of players. The enthusiasm around the game is not waning, and the arrival of the new season “Welcome to Noxus” on Thursday January 9 risks continuing this trend.
As always, updating League of Legends was accompanied by a trailer, this time produced by Fortiche Production (which also worked for the series Arcana). Accumulating no less than 53 million views in the space of two days, the video was a great success. Rhythmic and catchy, this promises an epic season.
Important information to remember about season 1
The all new season of League of Legends arrives on Thursday, January 9, 2025 and brings in-depth changes to the game from Riot Games. Unlike what was previously proposed, the MOBA will be divided into several seasons, each focused on a particular theme. The first season of this year will therefore be oriented towards Noxus.
League of Legends Season 1 will span 8 patches and be divided into two acts, each with a unique battle pass and rewards.
Mel Medarda joins the cast
She made a strong impression in the hit series Arcana. The character of Mel Medarda integrates League of Legends and will be unlockable for free through a seasonal mission. The noblewoman, who sits on the Piltover town council, brings a whole new type of gameplay: skill referral.
The arrival of Mel Medarda within League of Legends unfortunately did not surprise anyone, since rumors concerning his arrival had already been circulating for several weeks on social networks. The character, however, appeared with a surprising appearance. Inspired by Noxus, his blue and black outfit risks wreaking havoc.
The new monster, Atakhan
January 9 also marks the arrival of a brand new monster within League of Legends : Atakhan. Nicknamed the “Herald of Ruin”, the antagonist will bring new mechanics that are sure to transform players’ games.
Atakhan will indeed appear on the map after 20 minutes, in two different variants which will transform the combat terrain permanently. Appearance of walls on the map, spread of bloody roses in areas marked by combat… players will have to adapt to win the game. The team that manages to defeat Atakhan first will benefit from a permanent bonus.
