Recently, the leaderboards have arrived in Diablo 4 and players are climbing the rankings of the five classes. You can find out which builds are at the top here on MeinMMO.
With patch 1.3.3, the leaderboards came to Diablo 4 and with them the “Gauntlets” (in German: gauntlet, also: test). There you can compete with other players in a weekly changing dungeon.
In addition to strategy and speed, your builds also play an important role in collecting lots of points and moving up the rankings. We look at which builds players use in solo runs and list the best ones for each class.
In our article you will find out how the Gauntlet works and how you end up on the leaderboard. Here you can see a video about the leaderboards:
The best builds for every class in the Gauntlet
Below we list the builds that can be found at the top of the leaderboards of the individual classes. The order is the same as the rankings in the game. There are two things to consider:
Barbarian: Hammer of the Ancients (HoTA)
At the top of the leaderboards there are predominantly HotA builds in both softcore and hardcore mode. With Hammer of the Ancients, HotA for short, you deal damage against groups and also against individual targets. You put everything on this one skill, which you strengthen with buffs and shouts until it does billions of dollars in damage.
“MASA”, the current best player on the list, plays a HotA build with the following skills:
Necromancer: Blood Surge
Many top ranked Necromancer players in soft and hardcore use a Blood Surge build that they combine with skills from the Infinimist build. The Blood Surge build focuses on AoE attacks and overpower, allowing for massive damage and continuous healing, even without the “endless blood mist” from the Infinimist build.
The second ranked SC player on the list (“Vega”) uses the following skills:
Wizard: Ball Lightning/Electric Whip
The profile of the currently top-ranked softcore player, “Mekuna,” is set to private. In an interview, he reported that he believes you will be most successful by focusing on the most popular lightning skills: electric whip, ball lightning, or a mix of both. He also gives the tip to use a supposedly “useless value” in the Gauntlets.
With the Ball Lightning build, you summon ball lightning that circles around you and then simply run through enemies that are grilled by the lightning.
The top ranked hardcore player (“powerPL”) uses the following skills:
Hunter: Barrage
The upper slots of the hunters are mainly filled with barrage builds. With the build you have the choice of attacking enemies from a distance with lots of arrows, or rushing up to an enemy and attacking them. The top three players on the softcore list also use a shadow clone and various infusions to enhance cold or shadow attacks.
The currently first ranked SC player uses the following skills:
Druid: Rend/Pulverize
When it comes to druids, the top spots in softcore and also in hardcore are predominantly shattered builds that use the skills of the pulverize build and thus play a combination of both builds. Pulverize is one of the best builds in any season so far. With that you turn into a werebear and make the earth shake, literally.
The second-place players on the HC and SC lists both use the following skills:
The best classes in the current ranking
Of course, there are also differences between classes when it comes to total points in the Gauntlet. Below we list the classes in a current ranking (as of March 9th) in softcore and hardcore:

Hardcore ranking:
It remains to be seen how this will develop in the remaining days until the dungeon changes and also in the next few weeks in the trials. What’s exciting, however, is that several classes apparently use the best builds for the Gauntlets. You can find the strongest builds in our tier list for the endgame in Season 3 of Diablo 4.
