According to the latest reports from VGChartz, in Europe in December 2023, PlayStation 5 took the lead with sales of 1,181,934 units, achieving a total sales success of 17.38 million units.
Nintendo Switch’s Growing Success in Console Sales
During this same period, Nintendo Switch sold an additional 968,760 units, bringing its total sales to 35.06 million units. In comparison, Xbox Series X|S sold 7.34 million units in total, with sales of 354,953 units. PlayStation 4, on the other hand, sold 45.85 million units throughout its life cycle, an increase of 10,573 units.
Comparative Sales Trends
Compared to 2016, the PS5 sold approximately 638,000 fewer units than the PS4. Likewise, the Xbox Series At that time, PS4 sold 1,819,640 units and Xbox One sold 629,033 units.

As of 2023, 7.87 million PlayStation 5, 4.24 million Nintendo Switch and 1.94 million Xbox Series X|S have been sold in Europe.
