In May, two men, who are considered to be leading figures in the criminal network Dödspatrullen, were sentenced to 17 and nine years in prison respectively for the brutal murder in Boländerna seven years ago.
The victim, a 43-year-old man, was shot dead next to a fast food restaurant by two people wearing white overalls. The execution was caught on a surveillance camera – images that the police then released.
DNA not enough
Now the man who was sentenced to nine years in prison is released by the district court.
The Court of Appeal notes that it is troubling for the man that his DNA was found on the overalls used in the shooting, but believes that this does not necessarily mean that he was involved in the murder itself.
The second man is sentenced
The other man is also sentenced in the Court of Appeal to 17 years in prison. His DNA was also found on one of the guns used in the Bollands.
The motive for the murder is still unknown, but previously the investigators had a theory that it was a revenge action for another murder in the Lunagaraget in Södertälje in 2013.
