In the first phase, efforts will focus on twelve gardens where high lead levels have been found. Ten gardens will be tackled before the summer holidays, followed by the other two. These measures stem from an extensive soil survey that started last year, in which 920 of the approximately 3,400 gardens in risk areas were tested. Measures vary from replacing the contaminated top layer to covering the bottom.
