At just 20 years old, Léa Ferney is competing in her second Olympic Games and wants to win the gold medal in Paris.

Léa Ferney is a French table tennis player born in 2004 in Carpentras and qualified for the Paralympic Games in class 11 table tennis. This classification is reserved for athletes with an intellectual or mental disability. She explains that she discovered table tennis thanks to her brother, an amateur table tennis player. “My brother played and there was a table at my grandparents’ house. So, I played and I liked it. There was also a discovery week. I tried it and I liked it.” At just 17 years old, Léa Ferney made her mark at the Tokyo Games by winning the silver medal in singles in her category.

Since then, the Frenchwoman has progressed further and won the 2022 World Championships in Granada in singles, as well as a silver medal in doubles. She is aiming for the gold medal in Paris in an Arena Paris Sud that was already overexcited during the Olympic Games.
