LDD rates interest what will change in 2022

LDD. The revaluation of the sustainable and solidarity development booklet or LDDS comes into force on February 1, 2022. What is the new rate? What impact on your savings? We take stock.

[Mis à jour le 1er février 2022 à 09h34] The sustainable and solidarity development booklet (LDDS) knows this Tuesday February 1, 2022 a revaluation. Indeed, his compensation doubles from 0.5% to 1%modeled on the booklet A model. The LDDS is intended in particular for energy saving work and the financing of the social and solidarity economy.

As a reminder, any natural person residing in France for tax purposes can hold an LDDS. For minors, the opening of an LDDS is conditional on the declaration of personal income and a separate taxation of the parents. As a reminder, it is only possible to hold one LDDS per person, or two maximum per tax household. The lifespan of a Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet is unlimited and the funds are available at any time. The law does not provide for any minimum amount to open an LDDS. However, keep in mind that some banks require a first payment of 15 euros. Thereafter, deposits and withdrawals are free.

The ceiling of the Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet is set at €12,000, against 6,000 euros previously. Like other regulated savings products, this limit can only be exceeded by the capitalization of interest.

Like the Livret A, the rate of the Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet reaches 1% since February 1, 2022. This rate combines the rates observed in the money markets and the latest measurement of the consumer price index. The inflation rate taken into account is smoothed over six months, in order to stabilize the return on passbook accounts. In the same way as for the yield of the Livret A, the rate of the LDDS is reviewable twice a yearat 1er February and 1er August. It will be modified on August 1, 2022, like booklet A.

The Minister therefore chose to follow the recommendations made earlier in the day, Friday January 14, by the Governor of the Banque de France François Villeroy de Galhau, in charge of calculating these rates.

LDDS interest is calculated fortnightlyto 1er and at 16and days of each month, like other regulated savings products. Payments bear interest on the account on the first day of the fortnight following the operation. Withdrawals, on the other hand, cancel the interest on the current period. Their value is applied on the last day of the previous fortnight. The total interest is capitalized and appears on the account on December 31 of each year.

With the raising of the LDDS remuneration rate to 1%, your interests will experience a small boost. Based on an average outstanding amount of €5,000your interest now amounts to 50 eurosvs 25 eurospreviously, with remuneration at 0.5%.

The interests of the Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet are totally exempt fromincome tax and social levies.

The closure of a Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet is free. It can be carried out in a branch or by simple mail to the subscription establishment. You will then have to specify in your termination letter the references of your savings accountas well as the account details to which you wish to transfer your balance. Namely: if the account is closed during the year, interest capitalized since the beginning of the year is credited on the day of closing.
