Please note, humanity is seriously threatened! In Lazarusanimated dystopia created by Shin’ichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo), a worrying scientist succeeds in poisoning the whole land, after making believe that he could bring him peace. The time is serious: for the occasion, a bunch of superheroes goes up to track down the dangerous doctor and find a miracle remedy.
In this work collaborated by Chad Stahelski, the director of the saga John Wickwhich designed the action scenes and choreographed the fights. We know that the Japanese cast includes Mamoru Miyano (Death Note), Makoto Furukawa (One Punch Man), Maaya Uchida (The Promised Neverland) or Kōichi yamadera (Ghost in the Shell).
What is the intrigue of Lazarus ?
2052. The world is about to experience unprecedented stability, thanks to the “hapna” painkiller, developed by a renowned neuroscientist, Dr Skinner. But the doctor suddenly disappeared, before reappearing three years later in the form of a prophet who causes countless dead. In reality, the “hapna” was designed with a fatal retroactive effect which manifests itself three years after its ingestion. There are only 30 days left before humanity went out. A team of five agents, under the name of Lazarus, sets itself the goal of obtaining the remedy that only Skinner knows to save the world.
