“After careful evaluation and many leadership discussions over several months, it became clear that the changes needed to continue to grow the business and improve the company,” PlayStation chief Jim Ryan wrote in a memo to employees. “We had to step back, look at our business holistically, and move forward with a focus on the long-term sustainability of the company and delivering the best possible experiences for our community.” said.

In a separate post, PlayStation Studios president Hermen Hulst said the company’s Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, Guerrilla and Firesprite studios would be affected, and the outages would affect employees in the Americas, Japan, EMEA and APAC regions. Hulst says some ongoing projects in various stages of development will not move forward.
