Immediately after the report was published on Wednesday, the lawyers of the key witness already announced that they believe that the police and judiciary should clean up the organization internally, and that those involved who had made mistakes should be held accountable. On Thursday, they believe that, among others, Van der Burg, the chief public prosecutor of the National Public Prosecutor’s Office responsible for the crown witness routes, the chief public prosecutor of the Central Netherlands district, who was responsible for the security measures of Peter R. de Vries, and the advisers responsible for the family of the key witness and De Vries “should acknowledge their responsibility and make their position available of their own accord”.
