The case came to light when, on January 14, 2017, Nabil B. was arrested by the police and made statements about Ridouan T., in the hope of making a deal with the justice system. He later became known as ‘the star witness’. People around him, including his brother Reduan, his lawyer Derk Wiersum and therefore crime reporter and his advisor Peter R. de Vries, had to pay for this with their lives.
