The lawyer had taken over a case from a colleague where the client was in dispute with a consulting company. The woman got access to the file in the summer of 2020 and promised to get back to the client as soon as she understood the matter. However, despite the client repeatedly trying to get in touch with the lawyer, he did not receive any feedback.
In the report to the bar association’s disciplinary committee, the client states that he felt “completely left out” when he neither received an answer nor his documents back.
The lawyer admits in a statement that she did not handle the matter in an ethically correct manner. One reason was high workload. The client has received the documents back and an apology.
