Lavrov landed in the Turkish capital Ankara together with a military delegation on Tuesday afternoon Swedish time, writes AFP.
The visit comes after Turkey, at the request of the UN, offered to escort Ukrainian cargo ships despite the presence of mines in the waters, some of which have been discovered near the Turkish coast. The central part of the negotiations concerns the opening of a security corridor to be able to transport the Ukrainian grain that is stuck in the ports of the war-torn country.
