The Arizona Coyotes’ sky in the hockey NHL came to an end, at least for the time being, when the board of the series approved a new club to be established in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Thursday.

The new club will receive the players, reserve shifts and hockey operations from the Coyotes, whose operations will cease.

Utah’s new NHL club is owned by Ryan and Ashley Smithwho also own basketball’s Utah Jazz, which plays in the NBA.

– We are committed to building a team that will fight for the Stanley Cup. We are excited to welcome the incredible players, coaches, staff and their families to Utah. This is a great day for Utah, for hockey, and for a legacy that will leave a mark on generations to come, The Smiths said.

If the owner of the Arizona Coyotes Alex Meruelo builds an NHL-worthy hall within five years, he has the opportunity to return the club to the NHL.

Markkanen is dripping onto the ice

Utah Jazz’s Finnish star Lauri Markkanen says that he is already looking forward to NHL-level hockey in his hometown.

– It’s nice to be able to watch hockey again. When you have a hometown gang, it can really be worth it. The purpose is to go to the games, really cool stuff. You will definitely get to know new athletes, Markkanen commented to Urheilu.

– This has been missing ice hockey. The purpose is to be on site in the first game.

Utah has never had an NHL team, but the Utah Grizzlies play in the ECHL professional league, which serves as the AHL’s farm league.

Markkanen emphasizes that Salt Lake City is a real sports city. In addition to the university teams, the major league football teams Real Salt Lake (MLS) and Utah Royals (NWSL) and the Utah Warriors of Rugby’s MLR series play in the city.

– We have every game full and you have to watch the matches in other sports as well. There is a good atmosphere, says Markkanen.

– I’m looking forward to seeing how hockey works here. There is no doubt that the hall will be full and the thing will work, says Markkanen, who follows JYP’s excerpts from Jyväskylä.

Markkanen describes the owner of the new club, Ryan Smith, as a tough sportsman.

– He is on the spot in almost every match and lives basketball. You can see him a lot in matches of other sports as well.

Arizona’s Finnish players will move to Utah Matias Maccelli, Juuso Välimäki and Aku Räty. Markkanen plans to contact the Finns to help them adapt to the new environment.

You can find fire blades puck equipment for playing at the decorative star.

– Yes, it is necessary to throw a little “puddle” on the ice. Kamat is ready. Whenever you can go!
