Ilves’ superior performance in the opening of the semi-finals on Sunday made Kärppie’s head coach Lauri Marjamäki serious. The second fight of the series will be played on Monday in Oulu.

Ilves ‘charming opening round and a 3-0 lead in just over seven minutes discouraged Kärpät in the first show of the semi-finals, which ended in Ilves’ clear 5-1 victory in Tampere.

The powerful men of the lynx were Nicholas Baptiste (2 + 0) Matias Mäntykivi (1 + 1) and Joona Ikonen (1 + 1). Ilves broke his audience record for the playoffs when 8,301 tickets were sold to the Tampere arena.

Ilves broke the swell in the middle of the flies and milled efficiently during the settlement phase. The away team, however.

Arttu Hyry scored a consolation goal in Tampere with a direct attack. The playoff was the first in Hyry’s career.

The second fight in the series will be played tomorrow in Oulu. Coach Lauri Marjamäki there is a lot to think about, including the choice of goalkeeper for the team.

– The result doesn’t matter so much, but it mattered how we got involved in the game. I thought we were going to play in the Finnish championship, but we just went to watch.

– The opponent skated strongly and took all the duel. The lynx had four first shots and three of them went online. It was the kind of opening that should never come.

The pilot of the fly wondered out loud why his protector took all the dumbest coolers and bugs in the world that should no longer come through at this point.

– In front of the mirror, everyone is blinking about who’s really peeking there – right from the head coach. For nine games, I’ve had time to get to know the team and the pressure has been there all along. At least I completely failed to prepare the team. As soon as the puck dropped into the ice, we failed. It gave direction throughout the evening.

Marjamäki believes that the Oulu team is ready for a posture movement on Monday in Raksila, where the Flies will be stronger in skating, fighting and winning.

– The anger and evil we have now will be harnessed for energy tomorrow. We don’t have time for water rabbits from the hat, said Marjamäki.
