Finnish swimmer Laura Lahtinen finished third in the short course World Cup women’s 100m butterfly. He was already third in the preliminaries and clocked a time of 55.96 in the finals in Singapore.
Swedish Louise Hansson won with a time of 55.46, and Japan Mizuki Hirai was second with a time of 55.81.
Lahtinen has been in great shape in recent weeks in the World Cup competitions in Shanghai, Incheon and now in Singapore. He has set records, won two races and was third in Four.
The victories came in previous 100-meter butterfly competitions, so on Saturday Lahti had a chance to achieve the Triple Crown. According to the release, a bonus of $10,000 would have been available to the winner of the Triple Crown. The third victory of the trip and a huge bonus were finally half a second away from the Finnish swimmer.
