A total of 36 animals have been killed in wolf attacks in the area around Sjuhärad in a short period of time.
During the night of Saturday, three ewes and two lambs were killed by wolves 1.5 miles south of Herrljunga, Borås Tidning writes.
It is the third attack since May. The first attack took place at the end of May when five ewes and two lambs were killed in Töllsjö and just a few days later 24 sheep were killed in an attack between Ulricehamn and Falköping.
The County Administrative Board warned even after the first attack that more wolf attacks could occur in the immediate area, writes Borås Tidning. (TT)

Twelve people have died of suffocation in a closed gold mine in El Callao in southwestern Venezuela.
– They were in a mine that has been closed for a long time, General Edgar Colina, who is in charge of security in the region, told AFP.
The twelve people died on Wednesday when rain flooded the mine and cut off the oxygen supply to the illegal miners.

20 people are said to have been injured, including several children, in a Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, the BBC reports.
A video shared by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi shows rescue workers searching a collapsed two-story building in the city. It is feared that people may be stuck under the race masses.

The Swedish submarine HMS Uppland is participating in this year’s edition of the international naval exercise Baltops in the Baltic Sea, according to the Swedish Armed Forces.
The exercise covers air defense, anti-submarine warfare, surface combat, mine clearance, submarine operations and landing. The aim is to develop cooperation within NATO and between the defense alliance and its partner countries.
Uppland is the only Swedish ship participating in this year’s exercise. Swedish support and staff personnel will be on board, among other things, the American command ship USS Mount Whitney.
The exercise takes place between June 4 and 16, starting in Tallinn and ending in Kiel. (TT)
Many residents in southern Stockholm have contacted Aftonbladet about a larger police mission with a helicopter and several patrols around Hammarbyhöjden and Bagarmossen.
– We were going to check on a person in Enskededalen who then chose to run from the police. Then of course we want to know why, says Peter Asp, officer on duty in Stockholm.
He stated at 01:30 that the person had not been found and that the operation had been called off.
A car caught fire on E20 in Gothenburg during the evening.

There is a heavy fire inside a restaurant in Veberöd outside Lund municipality.
Several rescue units are on site and working to extinguish the fire.
– Passers-by discovered that there was smoke coming from the property and when we arrived shortly afterwards we had a fully developed fire in the entire house. So it cannot be saved, says Patric Nilsson, officer on duty at the rescue service.
The emergency services are now working to prevent the spread.

Two cars and a motorcycle collided in Ängelholm on Saturday afternoon.
A 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital after the accident.
During the evening, Region Skåne announced that the woman has serious injuries.
The police are investigating the accident as negligence in traffic.
A man was beaten and abused by several men in Husby northwest of Stockholm during the evening. According to the police, he was beaten by “a whole group of other men”.
A large operation was underway at the scene and the perpetrators managed to leave. No one has been arrested.
The man had to be taken to hospital by ambulance and a preliminary investigation into serious assault has been launched. However, he himself does not want to participate in the investigation.
The background to the incident is unclear.
An A-tractor and a car have collided on county road 110 outside Bjuv.
Five people are involved in the accident and the driver of the tractor has been taken to hospital by ambulance.
– It is a side collision between an epa tractor and a car, says Ola Åström, team leader at SOS Alarm.

Three people have been taken to hospital after an accident with an A-tractor in the municipality of Marks.
– The people were in a parking lot when we arrived at the scene of the accident. It is unclear how the injuries occurred, says Kalle Fägersten, officer on duty at the rescue service.
When the three people were taken to hospital, all had minor head injuries and scrapes, according to police.
