Volvo recalls 12,000 cars

today at 1:46 p.m. Johanna Sundbeck

Volvo is now recalling 12,000 cars in Sweden. It applies to several models, reports inform the Carup site.

Globally, it is about 106,000 cars.

It applies to model year 2023 of the models C40, XC40, S60, V60, XC60, V90 and XC90.

A potential fault must have been detected in the support functions of the brakes.

– It’s not like you should be afraid to drive your car. There is a potential error in the software that has to do with the brakes, and we are recalling all cars where there is a risk that the error will occur, says Volvo’s press manager Magnus Holst to Gothenburg Post.

Carup writes that the failure of the brakes means that the brake control module can turn off anti-lock brakes as well as stability and drive control systems.

However, the brakes must continue to function even if the systems are switched off.
