today at 16.16 Josefine Karlsson

Two trucks, a bus and a car are involved in a collision on the E4 outside Timrå, reports Sundsvall’s newspaper.

Traffic is at a standstill in both directions.

– It hasn’t gone at any high speeds, so we don’t think there are any serious injuries, says Thomas Åslin, internal commander at the rescue service, to the newspaper.

  • The County Administrative Board warns: Do not enter the national park

In recent days, snow storms have created problems in traffic in several places in Ångermanland.

Now the county administration in Västernorrland urges the public to stay away from the national park Skuleskogen outside Örnsköldsvik, reports Örnsköldsvik’s Allehanda.

    – We strongly advise against going out to any of the entrances before the weekend in any case, says Anna Carlemalm, director at Naturum, to the newspaper.

Trees have fallen across roads and the County Administrative Board has been on site today to review the situation.

    – It is very difficult at the west entrance. It’s very brave and when you even have to shovel the plow truck loose, we think it’s inappropriate for others to go out, says Carlemalm.

  • Confidence in the police plummets: “Looking at it seriously”

The Swedish people’s trust in the police authority plummeted ten percent after the police chief scandal was revealed, according to Aftonbladet/Demoskop’s survey.

Something that Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) takes seriously.

    – And I am convinced that the police also take a serious look. I believe that the most important way to maintain a comparatively high level of trust will be for the police to become even better at solving their basic task, namely maintaining safety and security in society.

In 2022, 61 people will be shot to death in Sweden, to be compared with four in Norway and Denmark and two in Finland.

When asked if Strömmer is dissatisfied with the police’s work, he says:

    – There cannot be a citizen in Sweden, an employee of an authority, there cannot be a politician who can feel satisfied when we have 61 shooting deaths.

    – I am not satisfied with a crime investigation of 20 percent and neither are the police. That is why we are taking measures to increase operational capacity.

  • Strömmer: Gang crime is terrorism

Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) compares gang crime in Sweden with terrorism during the press conference at Folk och försvar.

    – It conducts activities that are apt to instill fear in the population, they have a large capital of violence and try to influence decision-making, this is the kind of thing we normally associate with terrorism, he says.

In order to overcome gang violence, the government is investigating the possibility of taking measures similar to those used in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

This includes, among other things, secret wiretapping, visitation zones and a quadrupling of the police’s surveillance cameras.

    – It gives us another toolbox when we have to meet and push back the gangs.

The man himself denies the crime, says Deputy Chief Prosecutor Lindha Strömberg at the Prosecutor’s Office in Luleå.
