Finland supplies heavy defense equipment to Ukraine
Finland is sending more defense equipment to Ukraine, Ekot reports.
The war materiel is worth just over four billion kroner and is made possible through an agreement with Sweden that will be signed on Friday.
– Ukraine still needs support in its defense struggle. The total amount of defense equipment that is now being sent is by far the largest we have decided on so far. Finland will deliver heavy weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, says Defense Minister Mikko Savola, in a press release.
Sweden and Finland are thus adapting their joint planning so that deficiencies do not arise in the Finnish defense capability, according to the agreement.
Six arrested for serious weapons crime in Norrköping
A total of six people have been arrested in connection with the police themselves initiating an operation in Norrköping on Thursday evening.
The police have made some seizures.
– At least one weapon has been found, says police spokesperson Priya G Eklund.
The crime the six people are suspected of is classified as serious weapons crime.
SBAB raises the savings rate
SBAB Bank announces that the savings rate for private customers is now being increased by 25 points. It is now at 2.25 percent, reports TT.
For condominium associations and companies, which have their money with the state bank, the interest rate rises by 25 points to 1.75 percent.
Man assaulted in Järfälla
A man in his 40s has been assaulted by two perpetrators in Jakobsberg. A police operation is ongoing during Friday morning, according to the police.
The man is said to have been injured with a hammer, according to Aftonbladet’s information.
He was on his way to work when he was attacked in a parking lot, according to the police.
– We are there now together with an ambulance. The person is not life-threateningly injured, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.
The crime classification is aggravated assault.
No one has been arrested.
Apartment fire in Umeå – two to hospital
Three ambulances and a total of five units from the rescue service had to go out to an apartment fire in Umeå during the night to Friday, reports The Västerbottens-Kuriren.
Residents saw smoke in the stairwell that must have spread from an apartment on the ground floor.
The emergency services managed to get in via the outside of the building.
Two people have been taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of the damage is unclear.
The fire was extinguished at 03:00 on Friday.
The damage in the building is limited to the apartment where the fire started.
Car overturned on E6 – woman to hospital
For an unknown reason, a passenger car overturned on the E6 in the southbound direction, between Fleninge and Kropp.
The alarm was received by the police at 05.30 on Friday morning.
A woman in her 20s has been taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of the damage is unclear.
Man arrested for assault – threatened the police with a knife
The police went to a residence in Västra Götaland shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, where a woman raised the alarm that she had been abused by her partner.
The woman managed to escape to the neighbor. The suspect threatened the police with a knife when they arrived at the address.
The man is arrested on suspicion of sexual offenses and assault.
It is unclear whether the woman has suffered any physical injuries, according to the police.
Big fire in shanty town in Seoul
At least 60 homes have been destroyed and around 500 people have been forced to flee their homes in connection with an extensive fire in the Guryong area of Seoul, TT reports.
The fire broke out early Friday morning local time.
According to local authorities, no injuries or deaths have been reported and it is believed that all residents have been able to evacuate.
Over 800 firefighters and police participated in the extinguishing and evacuation work in the South Korean capital.
Images from the scene show thick white smoke covering the area, which can best be described as a shanty town.
Survived 24 days on ketchup

Shooting through the window
Shots were fired through the window and into an apartment in Farsta strand, south of Stockholm, during the night towards Friday.
The police were alerted to two loud bangs at 01:43 and have started a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences.
