    Two cars have collided on the E4 near Markaryd. A total of eight people are said to have traveled in the two cars.

    – Four people have received minor injuries and have been taken to hospital, says Anders Johansson, rescue manager at the rescue service.

  • Two men arrested after shooting

    Sometime between night and morning, several shots were fired at homes in Osby, the police report.

    The incidents must have come to the attention of the police some time after they occurred.

    No one is injured, but two men have been arrested, suspected of attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences, the police write on their website.

    The two suspects, who are aged 35 and 45, are now under arrest.

    “We strongly condemn these actions, which in no way reflect the views of the Swedish government,” writes the Foreign Ministry’s press service.

    The Foreign Ministry also writes: “Expressions of racism, xenophobia and related intolerance have no place in Sweden or in Europe”, according to SvD.

    Serious traffic accident in Herrljunga

    Two cars have collided at an intersection on road 182 outside Herrljunga. The alarm came in at 2:26 p.m. on Sunday.

    The driver of one car has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.

    Four people were traveling in the other car. The driver appears to have broken his arm, the others have managed without serious injuries, the police write on their website.

    There is a duty to stop at the intersection and the police have started a preliminary investigation into gross negligence in traffic.

    Both cars must be recovered from the scene and examined by police technicians.

    The road is completely closed during the rescue work.

  • Fierce fighting at the Antonivsky bridge

    There is heavy fighting at the previously destroyed Antonivsky bridge in Kherson, southern Ukraine. This is stated by Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian army, for the Kyiv Independent.

    A woman in Gothenburg made a wrong turn with her car on Avenyn on Sunday afternoon.

    She made an incorrect left turn and ended up in front of a tram, which drove into the passenger car with the woman in it.

  • Poland reinforces towards the border with Belarus

    Poland is sending 500 counter-terrorism officers to the border with Belarus to boost security, reports say Politico.

    The announcement comes after 187 people tried to cross from Belarus to Poland illegally during the weekend.

    In addition to police officers from counter-terrorism units, riot police will also be part of the reinforcement.

    According to Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński, it is an attempt to control “a tense situation”.
